This seminar is recommended for senior leaders and employees that wish to understand what benchmarking is, its role in business excellence and the benefits. This seminar introduces participants to the TRADE Best Practice Benchmarking methodology.
This workshop provides participants with a comprehensive understanding of benchmarking using the TRADE Best Practice Benchmarking methodology. Prior to the training participants are asked to identify an area for improvement within their organisation so that at the workshop they can work on kick-starting a benchmarking project in this area. In-house training is encouraged so that organisations can form work-teams to start a number of benchmarking projects.
Participants achieve a “TRADE Trained” certificate after completion of the training. Participants can progress to “TRADE Proficiency” and “TRADE Mastery”. It is recommended that all organisations which are serious about business excellence have at least one person who achieves “TRADE Mastery” – enabling them to facilitate multiple benchmarking projects in a professional manner.
A three year licence for organisation-wide use of TRADE electronic and hard-copy materials, acceptance of all employees onto the certification scheme, free assessments for all participants in TRADE benchmarking projects to Benchmarking Proficiency and Mastery Certification, free access to the BPIR.com the most comprehensive website for benchmarks and best practices for all employees, and other benefits such as “the organisation can deliver its own internal TRADE certified programmes at TRADE Trained Level” dependent on your trainer achieving TRADE Mastery status. Contact us for more information.
International best practice visits are a powerful way for senior executives to learn first-hand of the best practices of other organisations. These visits are on a topic of your choosing and designed to your specific needs. The visit programme will be led and facilitated by a benchmarking expert to ensure that best practices are captured, understood, and actioned. Visits can be arranged to countries anywhere in the world. The best practice visit programme consists of a) a meeting to understand your needs (to identify what you wish to learn) b) design of the programme and site visit questions c) orientation meeting on arrival into the host country and finalisation of learning needs d) site visits to best practice organisations e) review of learning and best practices f) assistance in action planning.
Visits can be arranged for groups of between 5 to 20 people. A lead time of at least 3 months is required to set up the visits. Contact us for more information.
Our team of experts can facilitate or undertake benchmarking projects on your behalf. We can help to identify benchmarks, best practices and implement them in all areas of business excellence. We can help in finding benchmarking partners, undertaking benchmarking surveys and arranging site visits. For small benchmarking projects of 1-3 months it is recommended that COER are assigned for 5-10 days work, and for large benchmarking projects of 6-12 months that COER are assigned for 20-30 days work. Contact us for more information.
Performance benchmarking (comparing your organisation’s performance against others) is necessary to identify performance gaps and opportunities for improvement. This is why obtaining “benchmarks” is a critical component of a Business Excellence Award Application. If you are having difficulty in finding relevant benchmarks we can assist you. Typically 5 to 10 days work is required to source and obtain benchmark data.Contact us for more information.
BPES enables an organisation to undertake a full health check of its management system, business drivers and results without external assistance. However, facilitation is available if preferred. BPES has been used by more than 300 organisations from the public and private sector, and from small organisations (5 employees) to large multinationals.
BPES offers the option of having an assessment against either the Baldrige Criteria for Performance Excellence (used in the United States and other countries such as New Zealand) or the EFQM Business Excellence Model (used throughout Europe and the Middle East).
For further information on BPES and business excellence visit businessexcellencetools.com. This web site is a joint venture between COER and PYXIS Consulting, and has information on a card-based assessment tool called ‘Assessor’. Assessor is particularly useful in brainstorming sessions with senior executives to identify strengths and opportunities for improvement, and provide them with an understanding of business excellence.
COER has experience of advising and/or implementing major regional or national business excellence and benchmarking programmes in Australia, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, United Arab Emirates and the United Kingdom. Programmes have been designed to improve the performance of specific sectors (e.g. the Food and Drinks Industry and Public Sector), national competitiveness (New Zealand Benchmarking Club) and regional competiveness (research for the Asian Productivity Organisation on the impact of business excellence in Asia).
